Ryan Flynn is a mixed media artist with a focus on paper collage. I create analog collages using vintage magazines, comics, and books. My process is intuitive, driven my color, and chaotic. I chose the name sacred chaos because collage helps me sort through my emotions and experiences in a deeply personal way. I started collaging 3 years ago and have created over 200 original works. My work features themes of mental illness, disability, queer identity, sexuality, capitalism, and society. Collage is one of my favorite mediums due to the nature of cutting up images is a rejection of society’s viewpoint. It breaks images down and rebuilds them to reflect my worldview and experiences.
