Nakita Knudson is a Northwest born and raised analog and digital collage artist who has spent the majority of her life traveling and living in various states across the US and Europe. Throughout her travels she collects region- and experience-specific existing materials to be recycled into new works of art, not only representing recycling as an honor to less impact to the earth, but as a teaching method to show how ephemera can be reused to tell new stories about our modern world.
Her analog works are often bright and colorful utilizing all the available hues in the spectrum and what she feels are the spectrum of strong emotions she feels in connection to daily life and interactions. She frequently describes her art as somewhat of a puzzle, with pieces materializing before her, and meticulously placed in each spot within specific intent. Often laced with intricate messaging within the designs, her art can capture your attention, and allow you to swim within its many details for a considerable period of time.
