Kaelyn LoBalbo is a queer, practicing artist located in St. Peter Minnesota and is currently attending Gustavus Adolphus College with a double major in Studio Art and Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies. Her pieces incorporate a dynamic use of mixed media to illustrate societal ills, queerness, and struggles with identity. Her work has begun to evolve in recent years to revolve mainly around the medium of collaging, specifically combined with painting, drawing, and sculpture. These specific pieces, all of which were included in her Junior Exhibition: Trample, Yearn, Crash and Burn, at the Schaefer Art Gallery, have been submitted due to their unconventional use of collage work.
