I am a contemporary intuitive painter. When I begin, I rarely know what I am planning to paint. My goal is to create art work that is unique, gutsy, and colorful.
I often use a large brush and move my arm like a dancer marking the watercolor paper with acrylic or watercolor paint. The negative spaces around the work become almost as important as other shapes. Seeing brush strokes, and texture is important to me. I often decide to use my fingers for dots or finger nails for tree shapes. It’s a bit of a balancing act as it is in real life. My hand painted papers are so great for collage.
My formal training came from the talented professors at Macalester College in St Paul, MN. As a member of two additional watercolor organizations in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, I have also taken workshops from nationally known artists.
In the past several years, I have been accepted into regional and national and international shows, and I have received awards for my unique artwork.
My passion is painting something unique.
